Big News — I’ve Been Accepted into the SFA Film Residency
A New Project and Preview Of What I’m Cooking
So, I’ve been accepted into the Southern Foodways Alliance Film Residency and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been sitting with a few ideas for my next documentary project, and this opportunity gives me the space (and the push) to finally bring one of them to life.
I’m really excited though because this residency is an accountability vehicle. A way to stay focused and grounded while exploring the stories I feel called to tell next. It’s also a full-circle moment. So much of my work through RED SQUARED has centered on culture, memory, and justice in the South. Food, what we grow, cook, and pass down, is one of the most powerful entry points into that conversation.
The SFA team chose four of us from across the country for the 2025 Prototype Cohort. We’ll each be developing a short film that explores food as a storytelling vehicle, and I’ll be sharing my process along the way right here.
More soon. But for now, just know: I’m in it. And I’m hungry.
(Fried catfish, if you’re asking.)

How exciting! Mazel tov!
So cool! Congratulations, can't wait to see it!
